Penetrant test

The penetrant test is used to detect the defects exposed on the test item surface: cracks, pores, holes, incomplete penetration, providing for 100% testing without surface destruction. This method is applied to detect the poorly visible defects.

The advantage of the method is the testing both ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic materials. This one is convenient for its wide use in many fields and in production.

The penetrant test gives accurate results when used for such items as nonmagnetic weighted drill pipes and equipment for borehole deviation, aviation equipment, machine building products and many others.
