A new task for GERMAN TOOLS INSPECTION LTD was to provide non-destructive testing of a nonmagnetic drill collar. It took place in several stages:

Preparation of the part for control: scratch brushing and cleaning.

 Visual inspection.

The penetrant test was used because it is the most effective in control for nonferromagnetic metals.

Applying penetrant fluid to the threaded pin.

Waiting for penetrating suspension within 5-10 min.

Washing off the fluid and after drying proceed to the next step.

Applying developer to the controlled part.

Inspecting the threaded pin for defects.

 No defects were detected.

As a result of the work, it was concluded that the threaded part is suitable for further operation.
